Dubai Customs: Voluntary Disclosure Update
25/07/2024Dubai Customs is encouraging taxpayers to submit Voluntary Disclosure Application to rectify errors/mistakes/violations, wherein the customs authority may partly/fully waive the administrative penalties if the submission of Voluntary Disclosure is before the discover of customs authority.
Voluntary Disclosure applies to the following violations:
- Import and export violations.
- Customs declaration violations.
- Transit violations.
- Warehouse violations.
- Violations in areas supervised by customs.
- Temporary import violations.
- Re-export violations.
- Any other customs violation.
Since most free zone companies are under customs audit – we suggest companies located on the mainland as well as in the free zone to consider conducting an internal review to understand if there are any violations from a customs perspective.
